Motion of solidarity to OPEL and PSA workers

The workers cannot pay for the crisis created by the employers and bankers who feed on the workers' exploitation

In behalf of the Metalworkers Union of São José dos Campos, we express our solidarity to the European Day of Action against the closing of OPEL and PSA factories in Europe. During an assembly, yesterday (June 27), thousands of GM workers have unanimously approved this solidarity.

Rio+20 begins, but with no perspective of ambitious goals

UN event and the meeting known as Peoples' Summit (Cúpula dos Povos) will be held simultaneously, with the participation of CSP-Conlutas


Rio+20, which has been widely advertised, is a conference that officially begins on Wednesday, June 20th, in Rio de Janeiro. However, a lot of people are "uninvited" to the event, organized by UN - United Nations.

Rio+20 is a UN meeting including almost all the countries worldwide to discuss, according to its creators' words, how the world will economically grow, prevent people from starvation and preserve the environment.

Rio+20 is so called as it's been 20 years since Rio92 and Eco92.

Union supports strike of federal education

Union Directors also expresses support for the strike of the construction of Fortaleza (Ceará)


The Union Executive Directors voted a proposal on May 28th to support the professors on strike in 48 federal teaching institutions – among them, 44 federal universities.

These workers have been on strike since last May 17th. The federal universities have gone through an expansion process due to REUNI, however, its financial resources required were not presented and now several problems have been brought about, such as lack of support to students (scholarships, cafeterias, dormitories etc), teachers, facilities, new buildings, safety in campus etc.
